What is treatment with hyaluronic acid?

Treatment with hyaluronic acid is one of the most successful non-invasive anti-aging therapies. It is administered mainly on the face and also on the body in some cases. The method is safe and is aimed at filling static wrinkles (lines forming due to the aging process), but it is also very effective in the recovery of lost volumes.

How does hyaluronic acid work?

Hyaluronic acid has a texture of an elastic and soft gel which is easily injected under the skin. In this way, the areas of skin depressions and wrinkles formed due to the usual loss of volume during ageing are filled. The microspheres of hyaluronic acid connect with each other and increase hydration. This leads to an improved elasticity of the skin and a fresher, more youthful appearance.

Areas of administration of hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is applicable for both the smoothing and removal of wrinkles and the creation of more volume in areas devoid of it or areas requiring strengthening. In particular, hyaluronic acid is applicable for:

  • Enhancement of the volume of lips
  • Enlargement of chin and correction of contour
  • Correction of the nose shape with a possibility to administer non-invasive rhinoplasty

Cheekbones: When the aim is to define cheekbones, a high-density filler that is injected deeply in the region of the cheekbones and the area of dark circles is selected.

Chin: Hyaluronic acid, in the form of a similar high-density filler, canalso be applied in the region of the chin for the recovery of the loss of volume and improvement of the contour and proportions of face.

Lips: When the aim is to increase the volume of the lips, a softer filler that is injected superficially in the lips is used. Lips become velvet-like, with a natural youthful volume.

When does the result of procedure with hyaluronic acid become discernible?

Results are discernible immediately after the procedure. In the majority of cases, one session is completely sufficient for the achievement of a perfect result, and a second procedure is rarely required.

Instructions for skin care after a procedure with hyaluronic acid

During the first hours after treatment with hyaluronic acid, placement of ice on the site of injecting is desirable. Furthermore, during the next two days, performing of mild massage in the area of treatment at regular intervals and the avoidance of hot showers, use of hair-dryers and exposure to direct sunlight are recommended. It is important not to apply make-up on the treated area during the first 24 hours.

In the first day postprocedurally there will be a swelling of the lips which will decrease significantly after 1-2 days until its complete disappearance. Follow instructions for care given by your physician after completion of the procedure.
