What is HALO Laser Treatment?
HALO by the American manufacturer Sciton is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser, designed to deliver both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to the same treatment area. What is unique about this laser is that it delivers ablative 2940 nm Er:YAG and non-ablative 1470 nm Er. Glass wavelength simultaneously in the same treatment area.
This dual-action approach ensures that you get the best of both worlds: the deep rejuvenation of ablative lasers with the faster healing time of non-ablative lasers. The result is comprehensive skin renewal with minimal downtime.
How Does HALO Work?
HALO laser treatment works by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin. The laser’s dual wavelengths target both the surface and deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting natural healing processes.
Unlike the classic ablative CO2 laser, the thermal damage to the skin with HALO is minimal, which provides a more predictable effect and recovery.
Here’s a breakdown of the two wavelengths:
- Ablative Wavelength 2940 nm: This targets the epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin, removing damaged skin cells and triggering the body’s natural healing response. This process helps reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation issues.
- Non-Ablative Wavelength 1470 nm: This penetrates deeper into the dermis, the skin’s second layer, promoting collagen remodeling and improving skin texture and tone without significantly damaging the surface.

What to Expect During and After Treatment
During a HALO laser session, a topical anesthetic is applied to ensure your comfort. The procedure itself typically takes about 30-60 minutes, depending on the treatment area. You may experience some warmth and a prickling sensation, but most patients find it very tolerable.
After treatment, you can expect some redness and swelling, similar to a mild sunburn, which usually subsides within a few days. As your skin heals, you’ll notice a gradual improvement in its appearance over the following weeks. It’s essential to follow post-treatment care instructions and protect your skin from the sun to maintain and enhance your results.
Is HALO Right for You?
HALO laser treatment is suitable for a wide range of skin types and concerns. Whether you’re dealing with signs of aging, sun damage, or simply want to achieve a more youthful and radiant complexion, Halo can be an excellent solution. However, a consultation with our skilled dermatologists at Derma-Act is essential to determine if Halo is the best option for your unique skin needs.
Combination treatments
At Derma-Act, we believe in providing comprehensive solutions for our patients to achieve their best skin. Combining HALO laser treatment with injectables can offer synergistic benefits, enhancing the overall results and addressing multiple skin concerns simultaneously.
Here, we explore some of the most effective combination treatments that pair HALO with popular injectables like Botox, biostimulators and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma).
HALO + Botullinum toxin
Botullinum toxin or also knows as botox is a neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes facial muscles to reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead lines.
Benefits of Combining HALO and botox:
- Comprehensive Rejuvenation: Halo improves skin texture, tone, and pigmentation, while Botox smooths out fine lines and wrinkles.
- Enhanced Results: The collagen-stimulating effects of Halo complement the wrinkle-relaxing benefits of Botox, leading to a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
- Minimal Downtime: Both treatments have minimal downtime, allowing you to quickly return to your daily activities with improved skin.
HALO + HArmonyCA
HArmonyCA is a hybrid injectable biostimulator combining hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite. It provides immediate volumizing effects and long-term stimulation of collagen production, offering a unique dual action for facial rejuvenation.
Benefits of Combining Halo and HArmonyCA:
- Immediate and Long-term Results: due to the hyaluronic acid in HArmonyCA, we can immediately regain lost volumes and the effect will be visible immediately after the procedure. The HALO laser procedure, in turn, as well as the effect of calcium hydroxyapatite (the second ingredient in HArmonyCA) will promote long-term and enhanced collagen production, which will unfold over time.
- Skin Quality Improvement: The dual-action of HArmonyCA enhances skin elasticity and firmness, while Halo improves surface texture and tone.
- Natural-Looking Results: Combining these treatments ensures a natural-looking, refreshed, and youthful appearance with both immediate and lasting benefits.
HALO + PRP
PRP therapy involves drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood, processing it to concentrate the platelets, and then injecting it back into the skin. Platelets are extremely important for cell and tissue regeneration, thus promoting a faster recovery process as well as collagen production.
Benefits of Combining Halo and PRP:
- Enhanced Healing: PRP accelerates the healing process and enhances the skin’s natural rejuvenation post-Halo treatment.
- Increased Collagen Production: Both treatments stimulate collagen production, leading to firmer, more youthful skin.
- Improved Skin Quality: PRP can improve skin texture, tone, and overall quality, complementing the resurfacing effects of Halo.
