Broken vessels and capillaries/ Telangiectasia
Broken blood vessels and capillaries that usually occur in the areas around the eyelids, cheeks, nose and chin, though small-sized, impair the pleasing appearance of face skin. At the Derma-Act clinic, we successfully manage this problem using the Cutera excel V+ laser – the golden standard in aesthetic dermatology for removal of broken vessels and capillaries.
Although broken vessels and capillaries on the face are not a threat to the patient’s health, they affect both women and men in their most sensitive area – self-confidence. Statistically, women are affected by this problem 2 to 3 times more often than men, which usually makes them hide problemareas under layers of make-up.
Using the innovative Cutera excel V+ laser, we are able to successfully manage thin, cobweb-like vascular lesions. The procedure is applicable to and effective for all skin types.
What are dilated blood vessels?
Dilated blood vessels (telangiectasia) occurring on the face are visible to the naked eye and constitute dilated intradermal venules with a diameter of less than 1 mm. They are also known as spider veins. Their colors vary from red to violet-blue and, based on their appearance, they are characterized as follows:
- Linear
- Diffuse
- Spider
- Blisters and spotted lesions
Treatment of broken vessels and capillaries
The Cutera excel V+ laser acts targetedly on vessels. Energy penetrates the skin, targeting only broken blood vessels and is absorbed by the red blood pigment, i.e. haemoglobin, while the surrounding normal tissue remains intact. The vascular walls are destroyed and then eliminated from the patient's body without side effects. Local administration of a cooling cream during the treatment makes the procedure fully tolerable. Cutera excel V+ laser also has a cooling mechanism – sapphire glass, which prevents burning sensations during the session.
Visible results after the very first procedure
Immediately after the laser treatment of a problem area, the color of broken blood vessels starts to become pale, and the final result is seen within 2 to 6 weeks. Gradually skin returns its healthy colouration and sensation of freshness.
How many procedures are required?
Depending on the number and size of the site, 1 to 2 sessions, rarely 3, performed at one-month intervals, are recommended.
What should I take care of after laser treatment?
Treatment with Cutera excel V+ laser is painless, without side effects and without a recovery period. We recommend daily administration of regenerating sun-protection cream, avoidance of direct exposure to sunlight as well as of intensive friction on a treated area.
