Acne Scar Removal
The appearance of acne scars can be prevented with timely and proper treatment, as well as appropriate daily skin care as prescribed by our dermatologists. Even when the scars are already present, there are various procedures that individually or in combination can eliminate them.
At Derma-Act Clinics we have the following laser technologies:
Laser Genesis works by gently heating the deep layers of the skin. This stimulates the synthesis of collagen by fibroblasts. This leads to a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, the pores are tightened, the overall tonus and texture of the skin is improved, redness is reduced. In combination with the Cool View tip, mild to moderately active acne can be treated.
The Palomar Icon platform with the 1540 tip is a non-ablative laser procedure. The laser beam creates narrow, deep columns of coagulated tissue surrounded by healthy, untreated skin. This stimulates the skin to repair itself, replacing old skin damaged by the sun and other chemical and physical factors with new, younger and healthier skin.
The PicoSure picosecond laser breaks down unwanted pigment and re-models the deep layers of the skin, shrinking pores, improving texture, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and evening out the complexion.
CO2 is an ablative laser that removes layers of damaged skin. This stimulates skin regeneration with the end result being rejuvenation, improved texture and tightening. Deep wrinkles, enlarged pores and scars are affected.
Youlaser MT Quanta Systems combines two wavelengths: 10,600nm (CO2) and 1540nm (Erbium Glass), for simultaneous modality of ablative, non-ablative and mixed skin resurfacing. The procedure is considered the gold standard for reducing wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scars, skin tightening and pore reduction.
Microneedling mechanically stimulates collagen production by forming microscopic grooves in the epidermis using fine needles. Thanks to them, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids, drugs and active pigment molecules are introduced deep into the dermis. As a natural reaction to the fine prickings, there is an increased production of new collagen and elastin.
Radiofrequency microneedling is a combination therapy that uses the mechanical stimulation of microneedling and the thermal effects of radiofrequency waves. As a result, the skin is tightened, its density and elasticity is improved, fine lines are filled and skin imperfections are recovered. Radiofrequency waves are suitable for treating acne scars as well as acne in the active phase.
Chemical peelings are treatments of the skin to visibly improve the tissue structure, treated with external application of various exfoliating solutions. The results can range from simple stimulation of the skin’s natural exfoliation process to complete removal of the epidermis and various parts of the dermis, mainly by coagulation and protein synthesis.
