But what exactly is blepharoplasty?

Known as one of the most frequently applied rejuvenation surgical procedures, blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that tightens and lifts the sagging skin of the eyelids in order to open and refresh the eyes. It is suitable for patients in whom the skin of the eyes has begun to lose its elasticity, to sag and have pronounced puffiness.

How the procedure works?

The operative procedure lasts an average of 60-90 minutes and is performed under local or general anesthesia. It can be applied to the upper and lower eyelids, separately or at the same time. During an intervention on the upper eyelid, an incision is made along its length (which subsequently remains well hidden in the fold of the eye) and excess skin, fat or muscle tissue is removed. In the lower eyelid, the so-called “bags” are corrected. In this area, the incision is a few millimeters below the lash line. The procedure can be performed with the help of Tempsure Surgical – one of the most innovative technologies, providing a faster recovery period and an aesthetically better incision.

Recovery after blepharoplasty

Due to their rich blood supply, the eyelids are an extremely favorable area for operative interventions and the recovery period after blepharoplasty is very short – between 7 and 10 days. During the first postoperative days, there are more pronounced oedema and hematomas. Before long, they disappear and the patient is able to return to their daily activities and social contacts. On the 6-7th postoperative day, the sutures are removed, and after the second week, makeup can be applied to the eye area and physical exercise can be resumed.
